Eighties All Day

Eighties All Day is an 80s-themed mix celebrating 80s pop music and new wave, as well as dance cult classics and throwback club gems. I always enjoyed the range of 80s music, and I saw a good amount of 80s bands this year, which was in part what inspired this mix.

I made this on turntables and an S9 and recorded it back when the Serato Stems beta came out. This definitely made isolating some of the synth-driven melodies much easier. With Stems, I also discovered a few cool practical scratch samples by happy accident (though some didn't make the final cut).

All in all, this mix was a good exercise in experimentation that was also really fun to make, and I'm happy to get it off my ever-growing roster of unfinished DJ projects :)
