Leaving Chicago

I made this cassette mixtape while living in Chicago. As true elsewhere, I made it in 2007 to mark time and space. What was I listening to and why? I did so for other cities including Miami, NYC, Detroit, Greensboro, NC and Columbus GA. I address these departures in my forthcoming Teaching Public History in Alabama: About (Public) Face book, which will be released in April 2024. I was leaving the Chicago, where I earned an MA in History at the University of Chicago, to take a break on the east coast. I'd enroll in a doctoral program in History at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, graduating in 2013. PS This was made from an actual mixtape that was damaged for about 20 seconds midway through the tape. Think of it as a glitch in time.
