Probably at least 15+ years since my last recorded mix, the period of isolation in Spring 2020 had a positive influence on this long drought and I loved every minute of putting this mix together on my newly acquired Pioneer DDJ-400 controller. In the past I've had a habit of sitting on half-finished mixes and ideas, but I was determined to just record this in one take and present it warts and all.
The spoken word monologues referring to this period of isolation are by Penny Rimbaud, when he was interviewed by Benji B on his BBC Radio 1 show as part of the Everything is Recorded special on 2 April 2020.

Meant to say Monologue really works too. I used LV colourful highway as an end track once but the way you have opened up with it is indeed , Inspired. Extra kudos for the manual control to put this out too. 👌🏼
Cheers mate, much appreciated 🙏
Great mix mate, sounding just as good on a Tuesday as it did on Sunday when I first listened..

Absolutely loved this mate, the Penny Rimbaud samples are Iinspired in their placement, and the track selections are incredible. Listening to this was like peeling back the skin on the onion I'm currently living in and reminding me of better times when music from Lapalux, DjRum, Deft and Doon Kanda were alive in my ears and the possibility of going to see them in person was real. A genuine antidote to the cultural loneliness of isolation, thanks so much man x
"Inspired" even!
Cheers mate x
Looking forward to the time where we can get back out to see some live music.
