Such a great show, best one in ages. Just downloaded 6 tracks and can't find another 2! Love sector One.
I'd also like to praise the 'Voyage - I Feel Love' version track, early in the second hour, that highlighted what can be achieved when you use the ART - instead of the commercial entity - when re-working other artists' material. All I mean by this is to try and bring things together to make something new, rather than just more of the same. It's an idea I hope my own music will one day inspire young music fans, just as Depeche Mode's protest-songs inspired me to attempt being a protest-songwriter, even though I quickly realised I simply never had the songwriting talents required to be that sort of musician in my early twenties!
It's a great pleasure to also hear a Depeche Mode remix (by Ewan Pearson) that is almost certainly the best Hi-NRG version of 'Enjoy The Silence' we'll ever hear, but one Radio 1 only played on its' flagship electronic show in 2004 courtesy of a guest 30-minute mix set, such was the focus on the Timo Maas version. Those were the days!
Listened to the second hour live, and thoroughly enjoyed what I heard, in particular, the Heaven 17 track extended mix (if only to hear an artist express their music with a little improvisation). It's as though the so called-producers of today don't want to have any fun making music anymore!
