The House At The Intersection

I have often said that Disco faked its own death, moved to Chicago, and became House music.

I still stand behind that though it only tells part of the story. Before people were calling it Disco, it was simply Funk. It drew on music's own history of Blues, Jazz, Latin, Tribal, Rhythm and Blues, as well as other styles that were fun to dance to and melded it all together.

House music is still doing that. And better than anything else I can say about House music, it's positive and uplifting. So much so that it can sometimes boarder on Gospel and many House-heads say they experience something spiritual while immersed in the sounds.

I hope you can hear all these things in this mix, where many different styles cross each other but we still call it House music.
