A mix I did for a contemporary dance production inspired by my gallery installation and CD-ROM pieces Permanent Revolution. The choreographer's approach is to work on the individual musical pieces separately for some time before editing and ordering the piece. I would then make narrative and musical sense of sequencing and mix the tracks. With what time was left Doug would then create choreography for the musical transitions I created between the tracks.
There are compositions of my own in there and to create coherence, many of the sourced pieces were remixed. Cleveland Watkiss, who sings on my own track "Appropriated Frame", added vocals to Talvin Singh's "Traveller" (Cleveland co-wrote the original) and Cecile's dance hall hit "Changes" has strings from "Traveller" reprised with additional Tabla .
