Volume 2. Hot on the heels of the muted commercial success of Volume 1, comes an even finer collection of sad songs to get the tears flowing. A double salvo from the ever-cheery Spiritualized features this month, alongside "gloom tunes" from luminaries as diverse as Johnny Cash, The Raveonettes and The Carpenters.
Grab a box of hankies, crank it up to 9, and have a wallow in the misery of your existence. Safe in the knowledge that even if you were rich and famous, you'd feel just as crap. Possibly more so.
In cheerier news, Volume 2 is marginally better mixed/produced that Volume 1. Originally intended for release on anti-valentines day, the extra work means it is late but ultimately less likely to make small children and pets hide.
