6. Suddenly instead of rolling at the viewer, the surface area of the object that precedes the top of the object's raised surface feature seems to start to tip or tilt towards the viewer.
This signals the beginning of phase one of the illusion, "The Valley."

7. The fantastic light blending and light changing has started.
The light from the top of the object seems to stop and remain while the object itself is obviously still moving and rolling forward.
The bottom area or regions of the object continue forward and down at the same time.
The "snail," shape of the object becomes greatly exaggerated. The light from the top of the object somehow seems to stay where the actual real surface was while the bottom of the object spreads down and the entire scene seems as if it's closer to you as the object itself seems as if it's opening wide.
