This set was born from a request a friend made: A DJ set their Dad could listen to. From that I had some ideas I wanted to piece together, but it was a real journey sourcing all the music required to make it happen. The finished product is a rock journey from the late 60's to the early 90's with a few 2000's tracks. From the Beatles to Modest Mouse, with lots of Zeppelin, Floyd & Talking heads thrown in for good measure. I thought with the songs I already had and a bit of practice I could do it in a week or so. How wrong I was, it ended up taking 3 months of continually adding and removing songs and looking for classic songs with a similar BPM & key. Mashing songs together in some cases. Most of the songs are originals, not remixes, so the sound quality and mixing quality can leave a bit to be desired. Its notoriously difficult but very rewarding to work with older non quantized songs (song made with a live drummer). I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed making it!
