A mixtape from way back yonder. In a smokey den of late childhood, I spent a lot of time playing Dynasty Warriors 3 (dubbed by my friends as "Kill All The Chinese People Ever 3"), a video game of battles that had a mostly awful soundtrack. This mix was my solution, and I've listened to it roughly 17 million times since. It started me thinking about alternative soundtracks and helped me to appreciate the general sequencing of swells and falls a good record can have.
Original notes:
: : • this one is bare bones, all music, no samples
: : • it also has many long long songs
: : • this may all be because i'm lazy lazy lazy but also:
: : • the many quiet parts of this record are to allow
: : one to relish in the sounds of swords slicing and
: : torsoes splitting.
: : • i do this in my own living room.
: : • it's a little like zen. with swords. and charge attacks.
: : • and amazon women on elephants instead of spiritual
