Over the past year I got back in to making beats. I started sampling a bunch of post punk (ish) basslines and new wave sounds, then building beats around them. I took vocals from mostly southern rappers and chopped them up into new arrangements and sort of re-envisioning what the song could be. Some of these songs have full vocals, some Just bits and pieces. I wanted it to feel familiar and new at the same time. I ended up with 14 keepers and about 30min of total listening time. Post Crunk is the mixtape ( now genre?) - it’s like a digital collage of sorts, same with the video concepts. It will drop early April. Going to drop a few “singles” until then - Crunk Rock is the first as it seemed like a good representation of what I set out to do.
