After multiple unwarranted copyright infringement strikes against my RSS feed from rightsholders toward Spotify, I have made the executive decision to house a new RSS feed on my website and domain.
This move comes with the absorption of risk and responsibility for all future and past programs and its content. This is simply part and parcel of having a music-heavy program with particular copyright rules. Even here on Mixcloud I'm subject to takedowns. But, being a paid Pro member here, and being very transparent with my details, I have never experienced a copyright strike on this platform. Only Spotify has ever logged strikes. And there have been hundreds. No exaggeration! That doesn't mean I haven't been in compliance. They simply want a better digital paper trail. The rest belongs to the contacts who provided me music in the first place. If all parties are communicating (me, Spotify, rights holders, artists & reps who sent me music) then things go well. If the communication is lacking, then, well, everyone loses, most of all my listeners.
This move away from Spotify and toward WordPress was an easy and cost effective decision to make. I've already republished the 6/5 episode and am currently testing other platforms out to be sure the RSS feed is working.
Be patient with me in this transition. Things should get better from here!
