My profile picture is from the one time I DJed in high school, taken in 1985 or 1986. By 1988, I decided to put another spin my record collection by learning (teaching myself) to DJ with two mix-matched turntables and a $50 mixer. My aim? DJ a big party and make everybody dance, cheer and sing along! But, to me, then, you had to make a mixtape, get it out there and hope that it was 'lemme get a copy' worthy to get buzz to get gigs. The cornerstone of my intention to spread music by way of the mix.
