Salmon Spawn 2015

Fishing for salmon on Lake Sakakawea is a popular pastime for many anglers. Because there is no natural salmon reproduction in the lake, salmon are stocked each year.  Salmon used to stock the lake are produced from eggs collected from the lake’s existing salmon population. These eggs are hatched at the nearby hatchery. Once large enough, the new salmon are released into the lake.
