With Mick Bannister in the departure lounge is Nobby Dimon.
Nobby is the artistic director for North Country Theatre where, for three months of the year, he travels the country with his band of actors performing in village halls and schools as well as large provincial theatres.
That’s not all, Nobby is the co-writer of the stage play 'The 39 Steps', a spoof on the John Buchan novel of the same name. The play has had rave reviews around the World and in 2007 received the Olivier award for comedy and in 2008, 2 Tony awards.
Nobby can also be seen parading round places such as Fountains Abbey dressed as a monk or cutting grass into the shape of a maze and then reciting poetry. But before we delved into all of that I began by asking Nobby about growing up in Industrial South Yorkshire in the 1960’s.
