Cosmic extravaganza...
Galaxy 21 was located on West 23rd St. between 7th & 8th Avenues & ran from 1972 to 1976, a multilevel club most notable for the exceptional music sets put together by DJ Walter Gibbons. To add a soul-stirring experience, the owner of Galaxy 21 George Freeman hired Francois Kevorkian to play live drum alongside Walter's epic mixes. Boasting a tunnel-like dance floor, restaurant, movie screening room, several open bars & game rooms, this was a happening spot where a diverse crowd together with celebrities would line up to enter & bang the night away.

Yes G21, One night a group of us went over to Cento Vasco restaurant in the Chelsea Hotel to borrow a "real" glass because Barry Manilow was on the guest list and he didn't like to drink out of a plastic cup. I still remember the sad day the FBI went down there and closed it for tax evasion. Well done for rekindling the memories x
