Dolly (9/12/2026)

This is the 85th episode of Phil's Headphones
It aired on September 12th, 2026
It features music from: Dolly Parton, Sun Kil Moon, Black Country New Road, Billy Strings, The Trio (Dolly, Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt), J.J Cale, Elliott Smith, Arcade Fire, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Johnny Nash and the Rolling Stones
This episode is a tribute to Dolly Parton who passed the week before production. Four of her songs are played:
Here You Come Again, River of Happiness, Wildflowers and Down From Dover.
The stretch from Wildflowers, Magnolia (J.J. Cale) and Rose Parade (Elliott Smith) is a short flowers theme.
It should also be noted that Tropical Storm Edouard occurred during the production of this episode.
As such, Storm by GY!BE and I Can See Clearly Now by Johnny Nash are direct comments on this.
This episode was also recorded remotely as the storm closed Lamar University for a good two days and affected studio plans.
