Honesty [backroom sessions]

last november, a lounge session regular asked if i'd work a choice of theirs into a mix, i ‘coolly’ replied, “sure, if it flows well, a good dj can mix pretty much anything”; inviting chaos.
next session, Leticia brought a cdr, “here, see what u can do with that”,
so the sun's rising thru my window, chillin to Claude Debussy, trying to figure out how to spin classical piano, modern electronica, future soul & broken beat.
life throws us curves, what the experience teaches u is what makes them valid; how u get beyond habitual poses & make an emotional and/or spiritual connection.
i realized i only loop beatz, not melodies; i dig ambient & contemporary jazz but never play them, so even though my sound is pretty unusual, for Brazil anyways, i had pretty much stopped challenging myself.
challenges make life the amazing journey it’s meant to be.
