This is a collection of songs I like from the year 1969. I've steered away from the big hits - these are mostly albums tracks or songs that never hit the big time, though there are a few big hits that people who know this musical era will recognise.

It would be great to hear from the people who play this what they/you think of this collection - so please leave a message to let me know.

Pretty groovy mix, loved it. Enhanced all the more by a few crackly vinyls :-)
Thank you. Glad you like. I'm not frightened of crackly vinyls. Adds to the atmosphere.
This was worth the listen just for the Beach Boys and Spirit tracks, but it has also confirmed a long held prejudice I've had for years. I do not like Paul Ryan, or maybe just the songs he chooses. That said though, this selection is what I used to like about offshore radio. A selection that exposes you to music that you might have thought you wouldn't like (And sometimes you don't but hey, where else would I have ever heard half the records in my collection?).
Great selection. One question, why did you use a vinyl version of "Moonchild", quite a few crackles.
Because it's the only version I have. I agree, it does sound a bit rough around the edges. Glad you liked the rest of it.
Thanks for the playlist, (y)
I think this collection is fantastic.
Thanks, majomor. I'm glad you like it. I'm working on the next one (1968) now, so remember to follow me & you'll get a message when I post it.
I didn't know that version of "Don't Mind If I Cry".
Only ever had the Craig Douglas 7 on Pye... always great to hear something new :)
Yes...this is the original - J.A. Freedman wrote it. Quite reminiscent of Walk On By, don't you think? I still like it a lot though.
