I've been mulling over this for a while, it almost became an albatross, this little pile of records for my jazz and strings mix. Thankfully McCoy Tyler came to the rescue to provide some extra wings. First in a series highlighting aspects of the arranger's role in Jazz. The heavyweight talents of Ogerman, Stepney, Sebesky and Deodato all feature here, alongside some lesser lauded artists... I originally wrote some extended musings about the "string thing"...but too long for here! Blended with love. Enjoy!
