Root Down was where it all started – me and John P spinning breaks & beats in the back room of a Sunday techno night who's venue was an old church on Green Lane in Derby.

We had a small but solid regular crew in the early days which saw us move from the back room, to the main church and then onto other larger venues.

This mix was the first tape we ever did and covers what you'd get across a night on one side of a C90 – from trip hop to big beat. This was the days of Mo' Wax, Pussyfoot, Ninja Tune, Wall of Sound, Concrete and Skint!
