Thomas Köner is definitely on the dark side of ambient. That album is especially minimal focused on field recordings. I recommend "La Barca" as well!

I'm currently debating whether or not to get doubles of some of the re-releases coming out since some of my old copies are so warn out!
I know - you are a vinyl purist, and I love that about you. I have about 800 LPs in my collection - many of which I still listen to. Just spun up Woody Herman's "Chick, Donald, Walter and Woodrow" the other day.
