Most books about organized crime have horribly sensational covers, and "MURDER MACHINE" takes the cake. It's about a notorious mass murdering crew lead by Roy DeMeo. It's written by the same Daily News writers as the previous book, but this one wasn't as bad.
For a significant part the book focuses on the nephew of Nino Gaggi, who later became a government witness and had a lot of information about the crew. In short, the book reveals how the infamous DeMeo crew operated. They had a very profitable stolen car business and were the ones to call to make someone disappear. This book shares in detail how they 'executed' that task. It also reveals why they often had to repaint the bathroom of the apartment behind the lurid Gemini Lounge (nowadays it's a church).
