The Commission on Education (EdCom) has called on the Department of Education (DepEd) to strengthen Early Childhood Education (ECE) as a key solution to long-standing problems in the Philippine education system, following the country’s weak performance in the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA).
Based on data cited from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the Philippines ranked 77th out of 81 participating countries in the 2024 PISA examination.
