Anticon Records’s latest signing and Wedidit Collective member D33J presents a mix of submerged sounds, like shafts of light driving down through deep water, to accompany a one way journey beneath the waves.
A graduate of the vibrant and burgeoning LA scene, 22-year-old Djavan Santos attended the same prestigious yet public high school as fellow Anticon artist Baths, OFWGKTA's Syd the Kid and Friends of Friends’s Groundislava. Time spent at the San Francisco Art Institute studying experimental audio and visual design enabled Djavan to develop his unique approach to music production, which firmly sets him alongside his Wedidit compadres Shlohmo and Ryan Hemsworth.
Alongside a slew of standout mixes and remixes for the likes of Brandy, Sigur Rós, and Drake, Djavan also releases his own confident and distinctive productions, of which the superb Tide Songs EP is his latest.
