I question the conclusion of the UCSF experiment that exchanged blood between old and young mouse. I wonder what's the implication to people who needs blood transfusions. Thalassemia (Cooley's Anemia) patients require transfusion every 2-3 weeks to stay alive. Some of them have been doing this for 50+ years, many started when they were in their infancy, apparently they have been getting blood from much older people than they were as they grew up. Despite the regular transfusions, many patients went on to colleges and graduate schools. It would be interested to find out beside iron-overload and infections, what other impacts may come from aged blood cells or older people's blood. Thanks for your interesting podcast, but you missed out one of the major consumer of blood!
