Coming to ecstatic dance for the first time usually blows our mind. It’s a massive paradigm shift from our normal life. “What is this magical land of freedom that I didn’t know existed?” It changes everything to know there’s a place we can go to move however we want and be enthusiastically supported.
But the paradigm shift of freeform dance isn’t limited to the first time we show up. If we dare to see it with fresh eyes we can continually break open our expectations.
Tonight your mission is simple: surprise yourself. If you always dance with others try dancing alone. If you tend to hang out in the corner try braving the unknown and asking someone to dance. If you always stand and jump, try rolling around. Or vice versa. Whatever your patterns are, it’s time for a paradigm shift.
