*Saul kept a close and jealous eye on David.  The core issue for Saul is not that David did anything wrong...but that David did everything right.
*Pride promotes self-sufficiency rather than God-sufficiency.
*Don't misinterpret: Pride is different than respect. Respect is outward, while pride is an inward issue.
*Pride will ultimately push God out of our lives.
