Techno Innovators: I was first introduced to Techno during the late 80's early 90's. I wasn't really aware of it then. Listening to early electro whilst wearing the the odd troop tracksuit lead me to an introduction to the Roland 808. The 808 shaped a lot of the early Techno rhythms and later on I followed this genre in a big way (still not really knowing what it was I was listening to or enjoying)
Billy Nasty, Sven Vath, DJ Dag and Dave Clarke were influential at the time and I DJ'ed with Billy a few times at Claires nightclub, UK and collected his infamous tapes. He was the UK pioneer for me and I often wonder what he's up to now as his sound got swept away in a tsunami of trance and mainstream house during the end of the 90s.
My objective with this mix is simply to keep some of the creative performances I saw throughout the 90's and continue with some old and new techno for you. Props to all the producers I included can't remember the titles. Email me FMI
