Show 75 (Nov'11)

Playing tracks by

WBI Red Ninja, The Band, Beck, Ye Mighty, Spice & Pinchers and more.

Its a stellar selection this week (if we say so ourselves) as we drop old-style beats of the J Saul Kane variety in the shape of Red Ninja, get rootsy with The Band covering Marvin Gaye, check Beck channelling Prince's slowjams, deliver sun-splashed dancehall with Spice & Pinchers and... just a whole load more. Go get some - this one's a keeper.

Hi Zulm - yeah, agree about RR in Last Waltz; so painfully all about him you couldn't help but conclude he was up his own arse a bit too much. And yeah, it is contrived (by all accounts the whole event, with its turkey meals to all at 5pm and McClure poetry readings etc was fairly pretentious and daft) but as cinema, yeah its also good, heheh. Know what you mean about NY too - I'm convinced I can see leftover coke bogey when he's singing. Bizarrely my copy is the remastered one too where it had apparently been digitally scrubbed out.

Anyways - glad you enjoyed the show and be sure to check out older ones too.

All the best!

I like what you said about the band, funnily enough i was reading about danko and manuel and helm, about 30mins ago. robertson comes across like such a douche in the film. it was bound be a bit contrived, its fukin' cinema innit! which one of you aint seen the film? if they did get rid of the neil young gack thing, how come i can see it? anyways, like your cloud. i usually avoid shows with talking, but enjoy listening to you two.
