"Just like you can't walk without a rhythm, you can't talk without it either"
I compiled this little mix with a variety of rhythm-driven music and lyrics. Maybe it feels a little bit eclectic, beats and poetry were the main criteria to select the tracks. And so I included various genres, from African music over hiphop to jazz and soul.
With the tracks by Roisin Murphy and Björk (who I have always liked a lot for their progressive approach to pop music), the Bidjoi Sisters, Pixsid (with the voice of Australian singer Marie Craven), drummer Cindy Blackman and the winks to Erykah Badu, the mix sounds also very feminin.
