Wow! That's amazing! Right up my alley! I think I need to plan a trip out to NYC to check it out! Thank you for sharing! I couldn't agree with them more. There are so many recordings of great music that are "lost" like this. And the work needed to transfer them to digital...I had no idea how difficult it could be until I started to try and do it myself.
I gathered that it was a bit "small" and that the studio was Doug Pomeroy's. Still, seems like a really cool place with a great mission and tons of really good info and music. Especially the Savory collection. It has only been a few years now that I have been getting into older Jazz & Blues from the shellac era. I'm still learning tons of stuff! A few years ago I had no idea who Albert Ammons was :) And I just "built" a TT for 78's and learned all about playback curves etc...I had no idea what other people had done or were doing in this area. I am amazed! Thanks for the second video as well, Mr. McBride is an impressive artist. It can be a bit funny when you get engrossed in the things you love and people have to ask if your ok.
