One of Alio Dei's appeal for me is that you do not sense that you are listening to electronic music, he manages to hide any modern sounding instrumentation, and thus presents to your perception something entirely organic, elemental, even dare I say even mystical.
That's very cool. So it feels like it could have been released any time over the last 100 or so years. A gift.
Hope that link works. If not I can email it if you prefer

On Spotify Alio Dei (Stephan Musso) has solo and collaborations on last count 67 albums. I listened to all of them and favorites about 30 cuts that I wanted to return to for a 2nd listen to see what caught my attention. I each cut as with most Alio Dei's music there is a unique quality to his sound that plumbs the depth of some kind of mystical acoustic alchemy that I find appealing. So here is a link to my 30 favorite cuts.
Hahaha - wow! 'Prolific' doesn't even cut it. That's incredible. That's a terrific way to describe it. Anything I've heard of him definitely hits that sweet spot which I find only certain artists can: Boards of Canada, Burial, Biosphere, Rob Dougan, Jóhann Jóhannsson etc...
Thanks for sending that link. Will add to my library :-)
Any mix with Alio Dei in it is an opportunity for having mystical auditory experience. Nice selection throughout. Merci.
They have a vast back catalogue, eh? I'm all ears to learn of any others I should check out. This one really stopped me in my tracks and had to finish the mix :-)
