A long time ago the Völklinger Hütte ( as seen on the image ) was a busy and very loud place. Now it is quiet there, no more workers and nature is retaking the old ironwork. It is interesting how peaceful this place is these days. Nowadays the old industrial facilities accommodate art exhibitions as well as cultural events like the magnetic, a festival for electronic music. The transformation is completed. By the way "Ysenschmitt" was the name as the ironwork first was mentioned in the 15th century. It is Early New High German and means "Eisenschmitt", which translates to "ironsmith".
