This show was 1st in the global jazz chart, 1st in the global eclectic chart, 1st in the global beats chart, 2nd in the global funk - soul - jazz chart and 2nd in the global afrobeat chart.

Philophon is a Berlin-based label run by Max Weissenfeldt, drummer and co-founder of the Poets of Rhythm. Part of Philophon are the "Joy Sound Studios" in Kreuzberg, operated by Benjamin "Stibbo" Spitzmüller. The motto of the label is: "Home Of 101st Century Global Raw Soul!" (following the Common Calender). The labels essential motivation is to support the "eucosmic paradigm shift" by focusing on any form of global culture with reason, freedom and ludic drive.

This is like travelling on my old paths. I lived near Kreuzberg when the German wall came down (Nov 1989) and saw all these Trabis crossing the border. I also remember buying that album by the POETS OF RHYTHM that had the credit from Bobby Byrd inside. Good to hear the groove goes on. Nice German and international special. Wirklich sehr interessant, tausend Dank and die Jazz-Katze :-)
