Shades of grey ~ Falling awake

In the hazy twilight of a heart undone,
I stumble through the echoes of what's done.
A drunken dance with shadows, lost in time,
Falling awake, the rhythm out of rhyme.

The spirits swirl, a bitter, bitter brew,
Each sip a reminder of love we knew.
Intoxicated by the memories we made,
A love, now lost, in the darkness laid.

The night unfolds, a canvas painted gray,
As stars weep tears, their shimmer in dismay.
In drunken dreams, I grasp at fleeting light,
A love once vibrant, now fades into night.

With every step, I stumble and I sway,
A dance of sorrow in the sobering gray.
Yet, in this foggy stupor, truth unfolds,
A love, once held, now slips from my holds.

Awake, yet lost in the inebriated haze,
I mourn the love lost in a bittersweet daze.
A heartache whispers in the silent gloom,
