thru the field

The rhythmic drone of a train, the cool white noise of the wind, the exotic chatter of human voices, the distant calling of a buoy on water. These are all field recordings that have their own unique musicality to them and they are all somewhere in this mix.

For this mix I tried to use more natural sound and less music. Most of the field recordings fit with the ambient feel of most of my mixes and are therefore fairly quiet unobtrusive.

Tracklist

Playing tracks by Chihei hatakeyama , Loren Nerell, The Black Dog, Jason Kahn, Framework podcast 11 and more.

There's a local community radio station--KBOO--that used to do 24 hours of non-stop nature sounds like this each year for Earth Day (not sure if they still do it or not). Maybe you could do a special Earth Day mix like this for next year!

That is a spectacular idea! Remind me about it as we approach Earth Day next year. ;-)
