One of the greatest recordings ever made is the 1978 ECM release of Steve Reich - Music for 18 Musicians. Blew me away the 1st time I heard it. I've been a fan of minimal music ever since.

November & December are shit months to work where I'm employed. We get super busy around the holidays.

low light mixes

I know what you mean. Busy months for me are November, Feb & May. It's like February is just over the horizon waiting for me right now. Ugh.

Another awesome chillout mix from you. Your mixes(to me) have been helping me to relax for the last 2 months, I work in the restaurant industry and after a long day prep cooking and washing dishes your mixes help put me in calm down/relax mode. Thanks and keep em coming!

Joel, I'm so glad that the mixes have helped keep you calm. It makes me so happy to see folks using these collections in the real world. I would lose my mind without music so I'm always glad when other people latch on to these mixes. Cheers!

Unbelievably tasty selection in your mixes, I have been listening to these the whole day, and still zero annoying or crap music. <3

I'm glad you're enjoying the mixes. I should use part of your comment as a new tag line for promoting the mixes..."Low Light Mixes - Zero Annoying or Crap Music." :-)

I have been a big Philip Glass fan for decades, though he's more someone I respect than listen to that much. The long-form/opera pieces Glass for which Glass is best known can be hard to take in large doses. This mix is a perfect bridge for several artists I feel that way about: shorter pieces or excerpts, and interesting covers by other artists. The opening track is astonishingly beautiful: One of my favorite Philip Glass albums (soundtrack to MISHIMA performed on my favorite jazz instrument.) Btw, another great ambient/melodic exerpt is "Tolstoy, Scene 2" from Glass's SATYAGRAHA.

Paul, I totally agree on the Glass opera pieces. I have several and am glad for the exposure but I rarely listen anymore. My two favorite Glass albums are Mishima & Glassworks. Thanks for the heads up on "Tolstoy, scene 2." Listening right now - good stuff!
