left in the desert

left in the desert

Playing tracks by

Earth, George Winston, Ry Cooder, Chas Smith, Bill Frisell and more.

These are songs that conjure up images of wind blown landscapes, tumbleweeds, sunbleached rocks, dusty roads and heat waves rising off the ground. Of course most of the music in this mix has an ambient/atmospheric feel.

Whether it's the twang of an acoustic guitar, the wail of a harmonica or the ethereal sound of a slide guitar, this mix will drop you off on an abandoned rail line in the middle of nowhere.

💚💚George Winston, never heard him in a mix.

This is probably the only time I'd use George in one of my mixes. No offense to George or anyone who likes his music but I can't really listen to his stuff anymore due overloading on it in the 80s. I saw him several times and played his CDs to death. But I was glad to sneak in one cut here. Cheers!

"In the desert, you can remember your name...", "the sky with no clouds", "the heat was hot and the ground was dry but the air was full of sound"

Thanks for the sounds of home.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll hold it in reserve for the sequel.

So awesome! I have to say, I was looking for my all-time-favorite A Small Good Thing track to be in here: "Gunsmoke." Everyone else that checks out this mix should hear that song. Haunting and beautiful.

Love mixes for the desert, did one myself so maybe I am partial. :) Great mix!
