Here's some music that really opened the portal for me.
Bookended at the start with one of the first songs I wrote (Devotion) and ends with the latest one (Negative Love).
I was originally going to do this in chronological order starting with Derek Bailey's Joseph Holbrooke Trio from the 60's and ending with mine and Rian's tracks at the end bringing us up to 2020 tracing a through line of South Yorkshire Mavericks.
In the end I thought it more suitable to have eras and methodologies butting up against each in a vaguely non-linear fashion with Mark Fell's work of 2010's next to The Human League's of the late 70's and my own Solo Saxophone Improvisation overlaid over T.A.G.C's Ghost Cultures Under Collapse blending into Clock DVA Uncertain with me being able to play a fictional time-travelling duet with both my older cousin Darrell (Saxophone in T.A.G.C and HULA) and my dear friend Charlie Collins (Saxophone in DVA) through the magic of the DAW.
