Middle C

Elodie had just started taking piano lessons with her mom, and she couldn't wait to learn more. However, right after Mom explained how to find middle C, her brother Henry excitedly barged into the house. "Guess what! We all had to pick out jobs at chess club today. Everyone wanted to be the president. We didn't want to argue, so we are all going to be the president! We are going to call it the presidents' club. Isn't that great?"

As he talked, Elodie continued practicing how to find middle C. Mom smiled. "Great job, Elodie. Keep practicing for a bit while I get your brother a snack." Mom walked over to the kitchen and got out some carrots and dip while Elodie sang out, "Middle C, middle C, middle C."
