Goodbye

Dear Friends,

Unfortunately, there will be no future shows. After giving it a great deal of thought, I’ve come to accept that broadcasting is no longer something I’m able to continue. My sensitivity and anxiety have made this kind of work increasingly difficult, and I’ve realized that I don’t have what it takes to sustain it in the way I would want.

This decision hasn’t been easy. My love for music, the shows, and the community surrounding them has never diminished—and I don’t believe it ever will. Broadcasting has given me many meaningful memories, valuable experiences, and friendships that I will always cherish. However, sometimes we have to recognize when something we love is no longer good for us, and find a different way to remain connected to it.

I’ll still be around from time to time, whenever I feel up to it, listening to and supporting various shows here. I also hope to find other ways to engage with music offline and keep that part of my life alive, just in a manner that is healthier and more manageable for me.

Thank you sincerely for your friendship, encouragement, and kindness. I appreciate it more than I can properly express. Broadcasting may be over for me, but the memories, the music, and the connections I’ve made will remain deeply meaningful. Take care of yourselves, and thank you for being part of the journey.

Sincerely,

Jack Preston

Good on you for putting your wellbeing first, Jack. 💯 So glad you are keeping this account active and will remain connected to the community because you are such a valuable member of it! 🙏 You are always going to be welcome at whatever level feels right for you! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

Thank you, dear Shazzer! I appreciate you very much, my friend. I have enjoyed getting to know you, and others, throughout the community, and I hope to continue to do so. Music is such an important part of all of our lives. We are truly blessed to have technology that allows us to do what we do. Thank you for your kindness and friendship. Take care! - Jack

Health and welbeing must always come first. I think that our listeners, and we love them, sometimes forget what it takes and the time it takes to put some shows together, in time and planning. I am 72 now and started my broadcasting in the pirate radio era in the late 60's. It doesn't get any easier and sometimes i have to take a break as i can feel " burn out * just around the corner, i dread the day that i say, that's it. Good luck to you and it's good that you have not said that you are retreating from the scene altogether. Keep the contacts and friends you have made and you never know, one day, just one day, a pop up show may materialize. Take care, all the best DJP

You are so right, DJ Patchy. We have to take care of ourselves first and foremost before we can do anything else. I also agree that I don't think some people truly understand the amount of effort that goes into putting together a show and maintaining it. Luckily, you do (and several others do, too, which helps a bit). As I was telling a few others, I plan to keep this account active and will continue to support you all who are still doing shows. I have enjoyed to getting to know people through music. It's one of the things that helps me keep going. All the best, Jack

Brother, health must, absolutely must come first and I'm glad, a little sad too but glad you've made that tough decision. If you return you will be warmly welcomed no doubts. Take care. Much love and good health to all💚✌️

Thank you, Bunj. I do appreciate your kind words, my friend. I know it's never easy to see someone step away from something they enjoy. I've felt that way many times in my life, too. And thank you for letting me know that I'd be welcomed warmly if I decide to return. Those words do help more than you realize. Take care of yourself and see you around Mixcloud!

You'll be missed more than you realise, Jack! Out of everyone broadcasting on this platform, you're one of the most natural and personable, and your taste in music is absolutely incredible. It really won't be the same without you.

That's very kind of you to say, Matt, and I do sincerely appreciate it. I'm sure I'll see you around shows from time to time because I am going to keep this account active. It's been nice getting to know you and sharing our love of music. I look forward to future conversations regarding our mutual passion. Take care!

All the best Jack, don't be a stranger

Thank you, Ash. I won't be a stranger. I'll still pop into shows from time to time. Take care, my friend!
