Tribute To Los Angeles Record Labels
Volume 1

This is a series of mixes that put a spotlight on L.A. Hip Hop record labels. Rappers Rapp Disco Co. & Street People Record Co. are the focus on Volume 1. Both labels were based in Hollywood, California and brainstormed in 1981 by Mikel & Duffy Hooks III. Known for releasing the classic by Rich Cason "Year 2001 Boogie" and "West Coast Poplock" by Ronnie Hudson & The Street People. The label lasted from 1981-1986 with 29 known releases. These are just a few of my favorite ones.

Enjoy

Bonus Points:
The reverb on this is how some mixtapes were made in the early 80s. They were called Vibe Tapes. Please check out the 12" single for Dr. Dre - "Nuthin But A G Thang (Vibe Instrumental)"

Killer groove What’s a good blog or place to buy this on vinyl?

jrocc

Discogs is the easiest way. Depending on where you live, it's possible to find these in stores. The Killer Groove is by Formula V and it was produced by Rich Cason.
