Tribute To Los Angeles Record Labels Volume 3:
Dream Team Records / Raspur Records
Dream Team Records (1985-1990) was created by Rudy Pardee, as an outlet for his group the L.A. Dream Team. They did sign other artist the believed in. One of those groups, JJ FAD hit it big with the single "Anotha Ho / Supersonic" and the rest is history.
Raspur Records (1984-1985) stood for the owners name spelled backwards, Russ Parr. This label was mainly the home for Bobby Jimmy, a character he would do on his morning show that broadcasted on 1580 AM KDAY. Although most releases were Bobby Jimmy & The Critters he did put out the first singles by The Arabian Prince, who was also a member of The Critters. Although Raspur was short lived, Russ continued as a artist on Macola Records.
Fun Fact:
The 1st N.W.A. single on Ruthless and you will see the name Bobby Jimmy & The Critters mentioned. Why? The Arabian Prince
