The Communist World in the 1980s was not a friendly place for the propagation of hedonistic rock and roll, anarchic punk, or bourgeois synthpop. But in the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia – UK punk, French minimal wave, and Italian disco found its way on to record players and cassette decks. Surprisingly, it was tolerated by the authorities with little censorship. On this week's show, synthpop, post-punk, minimal electro, disco, new wave, art rock, and other oddities from 80s Yugoslavia.
