Needing God

The latest Pew Research Poll shows that people continue to drop out of Christianity and organized religion. It would be easy to blame clergy scandals or commercialized religion, but we’re also taking our individualism more seriously. We just don’t seem to need God anymore.I always believed in God and haven’t ever really had a “crisis of faith”. I’d ask Him for help when trials came knocking or I needed special help with a decision. I enjoyed having a place to go on Sunday morning and had friends that were trying to be good people. It was a comfortable place to be, and I thought I was handling life pretty well on my own. When I joined my church in 2008, I met highly successful people who were leaders in the Nashville community, served on non-profit Boards and were consistently volunteering whenever there was a need.But they were also the most faithful people, showing up each Sunday without fail, participating in small group
