About the show
On August 26th, the Indiana Department of Transportation, or INDOT, held a public hearing in Greene County about a newly released environmental impact statement regarding section four of the proposed Interstate 69. I-69 will be a new terrain highway from Evansville to Indianapolis. The total cost of I-69 is a growing estimate of three billion dollars. Section 4 is proposed to start at Crane Naval Surface Warfare Center, run through Greene County, then connect to State Road 37 in southern Monroe County. So to add to the public discussion, in this piece you'll hear the mostly uncut interviews WFHB's January Jones did with INDOT officials, some of the recorded public comments and the voices of people along the route, as they try and sort out what is happening to them. You can find all the documents from that meeting and the full study on the web at www.I69indyevn.org.
