There is so much exciting music amongst the less known acts of italian-only music festival MI AMI I decided to make a mixtape. On the road I realized that the tracks I was considering to put into the mixtape were telling me something about happiness and creativity. At this point words from great philosopher Slavoj Žižek came to my mind - “People don’t really want or desire happiness. When you are in a creative endeavor you are ready to suffer”. Here I am. This is actually what I was chasing by working hard on both the festival and the mixtape. Then more good music and more wise words, even from Kanye, followed up. “I’m rather suspicious of pursuing happiness as a goal”, says Doc. Weil, “The word happiness comes from a Norse root meaning fortune. This means people traditionally have associated happiness with external fortune. I don’t think it’s a good place to look for”. If you pursue happiness, better try with contentment and education. If you ask questions, music is the answer.
