The Lockdown Sessions #6

Strange sets of mind you can go through whilst preparing to do a mix. You’ve been listening to music all your life, and here is a blank canvas. You are aware of the listener, and don’t want to alienate them, but at the same time, you want to have fun. It’s a balancing act between, indulging your instincts, but creating something that works as a whole.
After a lot of false starts, which were too reverential, I threw caution to the wind and did a live mix, selecting stuff that was exciting to me now... many of my past mixes used tried and tested. Any errors were just left… nothing too jarring, but there is the odd iffy bit… all part of the authenticity, or just too lazy to redo it? You choose.
Listening back, I’ve not been as pleased with a mix for a long while.
Dunno about that mythical listener though.
