Listener Question
Hi everyone,
Jumpin' JK Homan here again. Thank you for all the love on the recent shows, I hope you're all enjoying them and that you'll forgive the rather haphazard upload schedule of the last few months as I try to get back into the swing of things. One show every two weeks feels like the most I can handle for the moment, but at least it's something!
I am currently planning ahead for a makeover of the show. This is something that I was toying with for a while, and have decided to bring forward in time, both in an attempt to keep the show fresh and also to help make producing it easier. Creating nearly five hours of material each week from scratch is a tall order, and I need to streamline the process somehow to try to make things easier for myself while also keeping the listeners on board and not affecting the enjoyment of the show in the process.
So the main reason I'm coming to you all today is to ask one question, particularly to those who have stuck with the show from the early days, or who have at least listened to the vast majority of what I've done. When comparing the show as it was at the beginning to how it is now, what do you think stands out and what do you think deserves to be retained in any future iteration of the show? It can be a feature, a presentation style, a format concept, whatever you think gives the show some extra sparkle, please comment it below. Before I make any decisions on what to cut or alter, I would like to know what my listeners enjoy hearing and what makes my show stand out.
That's all for now. Let me know what you all think, no changes are coming imminently (at least not until the Beatle craziness dies down a bit anyway, for reasons that will become clear) and now's as good a time as any to take stock and figure out what makes this show tick and how it can be better.
See you all soon, and many thanks,
Jumpin' JK Homan

I have loved the show since I first discovered you when you began doing the charts in 61. I have loved when you did the artist spotlight, and the spinning the wheel with songs with a theme (this was during the 62 charts) I definitely understand how long and hard you've worked to put these shows together, definitely a bit sad to see the top 40 show end. Will the top 100 shows at the end of each year also be coming to an end? At the end of 63 when you did the Christmas special I loved that? Will any other Christmas specials be done, or any other special shows be done with the top 40 show being done?
Regardless thank you so much for everything you've done and all the enjoyment you've given all of us!
Have loved the show since you started in July 1959. It's the best chart show I've ever heard and that includes Casey Kasem's AT40. It's hard to make suggestions on what to cut but for me personally I never listen to Chartbusters. And when you cover the album chart maybe just verbally listing the top 10 and playing one song from the #1 album. I truly understand how much work it is to put this thing together especially having to get around all the ridiculous stuff Mixcloud puts you through. Whatever you decide to do is just fine. Take care JK!
Quite honestly, I am more than happy the way it is, I love the first hour where you have a look at new releases, many would never hear elsewhere, and I think the presentation style is just right for my ears. I wish you luck with it all and hopefully in time you will get it the way you want it to be take care bye for now I’m more than happy with everything cheers. PS, I hope you don’t get too many complaints about the show because it wouldn’t be justified
show is great way it is jack i know its hard going doing it yourself only thing you could lose is after first 10 songs drop 5 records might be in chart because you probably have played them your chartbusters show but except for that rest is all needed for show
Hi JK, i think the show is perfect the way it is now, We truly appreciate all the hard work you put into it. I can't wait until the Supremes hit the airwaves. Thank you!
